VisitHigh School Ripped Me A New One Popular Last Update: 2006/5/26 16:27
Description:
David Arnold and Andrew Sloan could write the book on high school lameness. Their complete and utter lack of game, cars, even appropriate school clothes give them an unparalleled, pathetically sad high school experience. Just as the boys have reconciled themselves to this sad high school reality devoid of respect, organized sports, and most importantly prom dates, an unexpected bag of cash gives the boys a whole new perspective. A little cash goes a long way in high school, and the boys’ newfound social status is as good as they’d always imagined. Unfortunately, no position is really secure in high school, and the unexpected bag of cash has some extremely disgruntled owners. True to form, David and Andrew can’t catch a break. The cops are crooked, the mafia is pissed, and the cheerleaders still aren’t interested.

VisitThe Appointment Popular Last Update: 2006/6/5 10:10
Description:
Peter Bundle (Don Cummings) has a past he is trying to hide. For the last year and a half he has been residing in Los Angeles selling home alarm systems. Late one night Bundle has a sales appointment with an attractive, mysterious woman (Colleen Corrigan). Going against his better judgment, he accepts her invitation to dinner the following evening.

Charmed and seduced by the woman, he considers helping her leave her ruthless and controlling husband. On the way home from his dinner date he is abducted by two thugs (Paul DeLesDernier & Gary Agostino) who take him against his will to yet another late night appointment, this time with a very well connected man who blackmails Bundle into supplying him with access codes to the security systems of some very wealthy houses. He is paid well for his services, but burdened by a new girlfriend with an expensive lifestyle and past mistakes that continue to catch up with him, Bundle foolishly steals from the very people who have blackmailed him and is finally forced to face the consequences of his actions.

Below are a few of the reviews for “The Appointment.”

“Todd Wade's directorial debut is surprisingly assured for a first feature shot for $31,000. The story we've seen before in films ranging from The Last Seduction way back to Double Indemnity, with an apparently hapless pawn (in this case it's Don Cummings as Peter Bundle, a hawker of security systems) who gets caught up in a scam that promises him a fortune, not to mention the femme fatale who draws him into the web. Fortunately, the film is surprisingly well acted considering the amateur status of its players, and Wade uses black and white to successfully mask the film's low-grade video production problems. It's one of the better looking cheapies I can recall seeing.” Christopher Null - FilmCritic.com Rating: 3 Stars.

“Solid performances and fine photography provide a measure of tension and entertainment in this thriller.” Merle Bertrand - Film Threat

“Wade and Director of Photography, John Ames’, lighting and shooting style shine throughout the movie. The acting reminds me of an old school B-movie noir pic, a bit over dramatic and fun, and suits it completely. All in all, for a genre that has almost disappeared, “The Appointment” gives a fresh new approach on a classic way of making movies.” Mike Kallio - LivingCorpse.com

The Appointment is being hailed by industry critics and advocates as having one of the most complete, informative and entertaining Director’s Commentary tracks ever made.
